As a professional genealogist, my aim is to preserve our collective heritage. I have been writing family histories since 1999. These genealogy biographies are written about everyday people whose stories were previously unknown, even to their own decedents.
With the recent surge in interest in genealogy, especially with the new DNA testing available, many people can now name what I call their “core four” ancestors, whereas before that was not the case. The “core four” would be either their paternal or maternal great-grandparents. Knowing their names and verifying their relation through DNA does not tell the story that can emerge through historical research.
My areas of expertise include people and families who migrated from Europe and settled in pre- or post-colonial America. My degree is a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Cincinnati, 1994. My study of history and the relations of nations has contributed greatly to my understanding of the migration patterns of immigrants to the United States.
Adhering to professional genealogy standards is paramount in my research and I believe in strong documentation and proof of lineage.
I am a Daughter of the American Revolution and can also help anyone who is pursuing that path with research and documentation.
